Halloween (1978) Trailer

John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN premiered on October 25th, 1978, not in Los Angeles with a big event at Mann’s Chinese Theater, instead it opened in Kansas City. It did quite well there and opened up in Chicago, and then earned showings in New York. From there, it had a platform release across the country, playing in different cities at different times.

  1. Two of my favorite horror films as far as slashers go and the reason I can see so many elements of "Black Christmas"-Bob Clark who was friends with John Carpenter. Still Carpenter's best film hands down. Bob Clark also made my favorite Christmas movie ever "A Christmas Story" both fantastic directors. Billy from "Black Christmas" never saw his face, only obscene phone calls they are still disturbing. Micheal "Halloween" never spoke, hardly ever saw his face.

  3. Donald Pleasence was a war hero, at first he didn't want to fight but after the
germans bombed london he answered the call and joined the RAF, got shot
down and imprisoned in stalag luft 1, nothing but respect for the man,
he went through his own hell RIP sir. The original halloween is still
the best, but he holds the earlier sequels together with his superb
    acting.

  5. Typically classic trailer spoils a lot same thing with Carrie 1976. And the voice who says Halloween is also used in many other classic trailers like Jaws etc.

  6. I don't believe Michael was actually "mental", aside from the first movie. A mental patient isn't gonna go and track down his whole family line, lol.
